Texas Cooking at Vickery Cafe
We’re certainly not the only ones in the community to recognize how great Vickery Cafe is. This local eatery is a favorite spot for many foodies in the area and has been featured in several publications for it homecooked dishes. You can find this cafe at 4120 W Vickery Boulevard, which is in the same shopping area as the Quick Wash just a few doors down. From the outside of this eatery, you’ll notice their old-school decor right off the bat. The exterior of Vickery Cafe features a black-and-white checkered sign boasting their homestyle cooking.
The inside of this cafe is just as charming with its decor and styling similar to old-school diners of the 1950s. The inside of Vickery Cafe features black and white tile flooring along with red diner-style tables. The vintage feel of this cafe added to the overall charm.
Service at this local eatery is spectacular. You truly get the best service with a friendly staff that creates a “homey” environment. The success of Vickery Cafe is lead by Chef Curtis James, who has expanded the menu since he took over this cafe. Chef Curtis serves up some of the finest home cooking using high-quality ingredients. The slogan “made from scratch” is shown to be true from the first bite of their locally famous burgers. Are you a fan of comfort food? If so, Vickery Cafe is definitely a place to check out.
Breakfast and Lunch Dishes
Vickery Cafe has an eclectic menu that shows off a range of breakfast and lunch choices. For breakfast, this local cafe features plenty of specialties such as their breakfast quesadilla, huevos rancheros, southern breakfast, creole scramble, and more. A particular favorite breakfast dish for many locals is the “Breakfast Monte Cristo.” This dish includes an egg bread dipped in french toast batter, which is then filled with bacon, ham, fried eggs, and swiss cheese. It’s served with chipotle raspberry jam and your choice of potatoes. Other choices include omelets, pancakes, waffles, egg plates, and combination plates.
For lunch dishes, Vickery Cafe also has a unique menu. One of our personal favorite choices is their steak burgers. They create their burgers using a fresh blend of brisket and chuck. Some of their burger choices include their bacon mushroom and swiss burger, old fashioned cheeseburger, and more. They also have home cooked comfort food like their bacon wrapped meatloaf and chicken fried steak.
Overall, we highly recommend this local eatery for their friendly atmosphere and made-from-scratch dishes. For more information about this restaurant and their menu, visit the Vickery Cafe website.
