In our last post, we discussed how researchers are studying alligators to learn more about tooth regeneration. While we love informing our readers about the latest studies in dentistry, we have some different information regarding animals that are far less terrifying than the alligators that researchers are examining. From horses to baby goats, you can find a wide range of ranch animals at Stockyards Stables. As an avid supporter of local businesses here in Fort Worth, TX, dental implant provider Dr. Ray Snider wants to highlight his recent experience at Stockyard Stables. Saddle up as Dr. Snider gives you a brief overview of everything Stockyard Stables has to offer for his Fort Worth, TX readers.
Family Fun at Stockyards Stables
Whether you’re a native to Fort Worth, TX or a tourist from out of town, Stockyards Stables can give you the quintessential western experience. The staff of Lake Country Dental, their families, and I recently took a trip to the Stockyards Stables and we were certainly not disappointed. This is a great way to spend your day with friends and family, especially as the holidays approach us. Although they don’t accept reservations, we didn’t have a problem getting our trail ride. Their trail rides are open Monday through Sunday from 10:30 am to 6 pm. Riders must be 11 and older and riders must be 235 lbs or less. There is also a waiver that needs to be signed, so keep this in mind if you plan on bringing little ones. It’s $40 per person for a 30-minute trail ride and $60 per person for a one-hour trail ride, which is well worth it considering the courteous staff and gorgeous scenery. They took us out of the Fort Worth Stockyards and down the Chisholm trail and along the Trinity river. For those of you with smaller children, they also offer arena rides for children three years old or older. Once again, they also require you to sign a waiver for arena rides, so keep that in mind. Overall, I was very satisfied with my time at Stockyard Stables and would highly recommend it for my readers whether you have experience riding horses or not.
Okay, so now here’s a brief overview of other things they offer if you’re not interested in trail rides or arena rides. The Stockyards Petting Zoo has an array of animals that is constantly changing and is great for visitors of all ages. It’s also easy on your wallet with an entrance fee of only $2 dollars per person regardless of age and $3 for a cup of feed if you want to feed the animals. This particular attraction is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:30 am to 5 pm. Stockyards Stables also captures the essence of Texas with their Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns are located on Exchange Avenue and are great for pictures. They will even make their Longhorns available for an event or family picture. As a side note, I’d recommend you go to Stockyards Stables at 11:30 am or 4:00 pm so you can catch the cattle drive. You can watch the cattle walk through and even see real cowboys. For those of you who want to enjoy the horses without actually riding them, there are stagecoach and carriage rides available. Rides are available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. Prices are affordable with tickets $10 for ages 10 and up, $5 for ages 4 to 9, and free admission for ages under 4. Evening carriage rides are also available from 6 pm to 10 pm Thursday through Sunday. Stockyards Stables also offer horse boarding and RV hookups as well.
